Pakistan’s Running Machine Babar Azam Sets a New Half-Century Record in the Second ODI. Babar Azam continued to shine with the bat for Pakistan, scoring another half-century as the hosts cruised past the West Indies in the second One-Day International in Multan.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam maintained his hot streak, becoming the first man in men’s international cricket history to record nine consecutive fifty-plus scores across all three formats. Moreover, Babar Azam became the holder of the longest streak of 50+ scores for any batter in men’s international cricket with his 77-run knock against the West Indies in the second ODI at Multan. Pakistan also defeated the West Indies by 120 runs on Friday to take a 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. Babar Azam had scored a brilliant century in the previous match to help his team chase down the 306-run target.

Babar Azam had an opportunity to become only the second player in ODI history, after Kumar Sangakkara, to score four centuries in a row. However, Pakistan’s captain was dismissed for 77 runs.
This was Pakistan’s sixth consecutive ODI innings of 50+ runs.
On Friday, half-centuries from Babar and Imam-ul-Haq helped Pakistan reach 275 for eight in 50 overs.
In response, West Indies kept losing wickets at regular intervals, with Mohammad Nawaz running wild. The Pakistan spinner returned figures of four for 19 in 10 overs as the West Indies were bowled out for 155 in 32.2 overs.
