Royal Challengers Bangalore In IPL 2022: Virat Kohli Is Looking Forward To Playing As Pure Batter
Virat Kohli understands the pressures that come with heading a high-profile franchise; having captained Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for the past nine editions. The maverick batter, on the other hand; has stepped down as captain and is now focused on giving his all in the tournament’s 15th edition. Kohli will try to repeat his performance from the 2016 edition; when he hit around 1,000 runs after relinquishing the captaincy. The right-handed batter will try to lead his team to victory this season; and he hopes to inspire the young players as well.
Kohli joined the RCB squad in Mumbai on Monday, and after completing his fundamental isolate period; he will start preparing in arrangement for the 15th version of the profitable tournament. “Wow. The Royal Challengers Bangalore have already named a new captain; and former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis will lead the team this season. In the IPL mega auction, the franchise purchased the former Proteas skipper for Rs 7 crore.
“I am fully ready,” Kohli responded when asked about Faf. As soon as RCB selected him, I messaged him. I gave him a heads-up on what was to follow. The plan for getting Faf in the auction was crystal clear to me. In the dressing room, we wanted a leader who commands a lot of respect. He has been a Test captain, and his resume already boasts a long list of achievements.
I’m definitely looking forward to him leading RCB this year; we get along great.”
The IPL 2022 season will begin on March 26, and RCB will face the Punjab Kings; headed by Mayank Agarwal, in their opening match on March 27.
