Taking after the viral video of Pat Cummins patching the pitch at the National Stadium; in Karachi amid the moment Test coordinate between Australia and Pakistan; David Warner pulled in consideration once more on Day 5 by attempting his hand with the hammer. In the drawn second Test in Karachi on Wednesday, Australia skipper Cummins justified his choice not to enforce follow-on. At Karachi’s National Stadium, Australia scored 556-9 before declaring their first innings; then skittled Pakistan for 148 to take a 408-run lead.

Rather of forcing Pakistan to bat again, Cummins chose to bat; and Australia declared their second innings at 97-2, setting Pakistan a record win goal of 506 runs. Pakistan’s courageous comeback was fueled by Babar Azam’s amazing 196; and Australia were finally left three wickets short of a 1-0 series lead in the three-match series.

Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne both missed good chances in debutant Mitchell Swepson’s over, giving Babar back-to-back reprieves. Usman Khawaja also spilled Rizwan, who was on 91 at the time and went on to make a 104-run innings.
