Gautam Gambhir reveals his KKR future giving India head coach race twist in a tale. “MI and CSK are still two trophies away from us. Although we are not the most successful IPL team right now, I am happy with our current status,” Gambhir stated.
The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) had an extremely successful season in the 17th edition of the IPL (Indian Premier League). After finishing first in the group stages, KKR were the first team to reach the competition’s final, defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad in the summit game to claim their third IPL title. The side made a few changes to their team ahead of the IPL 2024, the most prominent of which was the appointment of veteran Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir as the franchise’s mentor.
Under Gambhir’s guidance, KKR went on to win the IPL 2024 in dominant form, and after a tremendously successful season, Gambhir came forward to set out the franchise’s objectives for the future season. The 42-year-old claimed that they intend to help KKR become the most successful team in tournament history, surpassing Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.
“We are still two trophies short of MI and CSK. I am satisfied today, but we are still not the most successful IPL franchise. To accomplish this, we must win the event three more times, which will demand a significant amount of effort. Our next aim is to create KKR the most successful IPL squad. There will be no finer sensation than this. However, the voyage towards that has only begun,” Gambhir told Sportskeeda.

At every step, there has been excitement: Gambhir
Gautam Gambhir also discussed the excitement of making it to the IPL knockout stages and ultimately winning it. He said that he is a very happy man sitting at home and that people start to feel very good about themselves when they win the IPL.
“Making the playoffs is your first priority when the IPL begins. You consider the top two when the playoffs are almost here. You want to make it to the final and win it once you’ve placed in the top two. There have been obstacles, anxiety, and excitement at every turn, according to the KKR mentor.
“Sitting here at home today, I couldn’t be happier. In a league like the IPL, you can’t take any team lightly. Gambhir said, “It’s such a high-intensity tournament that you start feeling really good about yourself when you win it.”
