Shane Watson and Darren Sammy are in talks for PCB to coach Pakistan. Prior to the beginning of April, PCB hopes to name a coach.
The PCB has made a long-term offer to former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson to coach the national team. The board fired Mohammad Hafeez following a humiliating series in Australia and New Zealand, and they haven’t yet named a replacement. The intention is to select a coach by the end of the month. So that he or she can join the team for New Zealand’s April tour of Pakistan.
Notably, PCB was a huge fan of Watson’s work as the current PSL head coach of the Quetta Gladiators. For the first time in five years, they are expect to make it to the playoffs. It’s been said that the league is also please with the depth of his ability to build relationships quickly. Watson becoming Pakistan’s head coach, though, appears to be more difficult at this time.
The former cricket player has a deal with Star Sports for IPL and ICC events in addition to serving. As head coach of the San Francisco Unicorns in Major League Cricket. His availability is currently up for debate, and it remains to be seen if PCB will give him a flexible role similar to the one Micky Arthur with the national team.

PCB and West Indies great Darren Sammy, who presently coaches in the PSL, are in talks as well
ESPNcricinfo reports that PCB and former cricket player Darren Sammy are in discussions. His relationship with Pakistan is longstanding, and during his time as Peshawar Zalmi’s captain and later as their coach in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), he accomplished great things for the team. But there are also difficulties in this instance. Currently serving as West Indies’ head coach, Sammy will co-host the next T20 World Cup alongside the United States of America. Although it seems difficult for Sammy to quit his position with his own country before the World Cup, PCB is reportedly making every effort to persuade him.
Currently, PCB is looking for a temporary and permanent replacement for the position. This makes matters more complicated because a lot of the former players are currently affiliate with different franchise teams all over the world, making it seem challenging to leave their position.
