Jaipur could miss out on hosting RR games over INR 34 crore dues to the state council. This decision comes in response to the Rajasthan Cricket Association’s request to renew the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the RSSC.
With less than a month till the start of the 2024 IPL. Attention has shifted to the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur and the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) office. The Rajasthan State Sports Council (RSSC) has taken a crucial step by securing both the renowned stadium and the RCA office. This decision followed the association’s request to prolong the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the RSSC.
However, the RSSC chose not to extend the MoU, resulting in the closure of the RCA office. As well as the prestigious Sawai Mansingh Stadium and its attached cricket academy. Karan Singh, the Sports Officer, revealed that the initial MoU terminate in July of the previous year, and the current one ended on February 21. Despite efforts, the MoU renewal procedure remains incomplete, with an outstanding balance of INR 34 crore.
“The MoU has come to an end. We’ve issued them notices several times. The Rs 34 crore is due, thus we are here to take possession (of the academy and stadium); but, the process required to extend the MoU once it expire not complete.” Karan stated, as quoted by Daily Jagran.

Rajasthan Cricket Association under legal scrutiny ahead of IPL 2024
The Rajasthan Royals will begin their season on March 24 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium against the Lucknow Super Giants, which may necessitate a change in host venues for the Rajasthan franchise. Vaibhav Gehlot, President of the Rajasthan Cricket Association, revealed that the RCA had formally requested an extension of the MoU. Gehlot further state that the financial disagreement between the RCA and the Sports Council is currently being litigated.
“We request that the MoU be extended; nevertheless, it not extend. We received warning two days ago that the sports council will confiscate the academy (RCA) and venue (Sawai Mansingh venue). “The monetary case between RCA and the sports council is in court,” Gehlot stated.
