BCCI granted Virat Kohli permission to attend the Ram Mandir consecration event. Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma received an invitation to the Ram Mandir consecration event at their Mumbai abode.

Virat Kohli, a star India batsman, will allegedly attend the consecration ceremony of Ram Mandir on Monday, January 22 in Ayodha after obtaining permission from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Notably, the Indian squad will take a two-day break following their third T20I against Afghanistan on Wednesday, January 17. They will meet in Hyderabad on January 20 ahead of the first Test against England. Which begins on January 25 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.

When the 16-member group arrives in Hyderabad, they will immediately start hitting the nets. However, according to Cricbuzz, Kohli will travel to Ayodhya. After his practice session on January 21 to attend the sacred Pran Pratishtha ceremony at Ram Mandir.

The 35-year-old received the invitation to the solemn occasion in his Mumbai home in the company of his Bollywood actress wife Anushka Sharma. Apart from Kohli, former Indian cricketers MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar invited to Lord Ram Lalla’s homecoming.

Meanwhile, Kohli seen practicing at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru ahead of the third T20I against Afghanistan. The Delhi-born batsman return to the T20I team after 14 months during the series’ second game in Indore, when he look to attack the opposition right away.

Kohli’s final Test in T20Is ahead of T20 World Cup 2024

The top batter made a brief cameo of 29 (16) with five boundaries. Before being hole out to mid-off against Naveen ul Haq. Notably, there was a lot of speculation about his strike rate ahead of the series, with numerous former players believing his style of play is unsuitable for modern T20I standards.

However, the selectors reaffirmed their faith in Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024. The duo is expect to be part of the team in the mega event, which begins on June 1 in the West Indies and the United States.
