The Indian Premier League (IPL) is back for another entertaining season. The IPL 2024 Auction took held on Tuesday, December 19, in Dubai, with teams signing players in the hopes of performing well in the future season.
MS Dhoni may be playing his final season in the cash-rich competition. He led the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to a record-tying fifth IPL title last year. He’d like to win the championship again this year and end his career on a good note. The renowned cricketer MS Dhoni recently ask about post-retirement plans at a recent occasion. Dhoni expressed a desire to spend more time with the Indian Army.
“I’ve never considered it. I continue to play cricket. I am still competing in the IPL. It will be really intriguing to see what I do after I finish playing cricket. “I think for sure, I want to spend a little more time with the Army because I haven’t been able to do that in the last few years,” MS Dhoni was heard saying in a viral video.
When CSK defeated the Gujarat Titans in the season finale in Ahmedabad last season, people feared Dhoni’s cricketing career was over. However, at the post-match presentation ceremony, the stalwart stated that he will try to play one more season as a thank you to his fans.

We’ve had succession plans for MS for about 10 years: Stephen Fleming
Stephen Fleming has been the Super Kings’ head coach since the second season of the IPL in 2009. During a press conference at the IPL 2024 auction, the former New Zealand captain said that Chennai has been talking to Dhoni about his prospective successor for the past ten years.
“We’ve had MS succession plans in place for about ten years.” It’ll be a talking point, but he’s as engaged and enthusiastic as I’ve seen him in a long time. We’ll keep going as long as that passion for the team and franchise exists,” Fleming previously stated.
