Imam-ul-Haq of Pakistan asks Jasprit Bumrah to loosen his elbow straps while bowling. Pakistan require 357 to win.

During the high-intensity Asia Cup Super Fours match, India started their batting innings impressively, setting a large goal of 357, with to centuries from Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. As Pakistan’s openers took their turns at the crease, Imam-ul-Haq asked Jasprit Bumrah to remove his elbow straps while bowling.

Earlier India enjoyed a wonderful start to the contest, batting first. The opening duo of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill got the side off to a good start, scoring 56 and 58 runs in rapid succession.

Following their removal, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli created a spectacular fourth-wicket partnership, contributing 122 and 111 runs, respectively. They cobbled together a monster 233-run partnership. Kohli scored nine fours and three sixes in his innings, while Rahul smashed 12 fours and two sixes.

Pakistan faced a difficult task in attempting to meet India’s aim

Their openers struggled against India’s new ball bowlers, particularly Jasprit Bumrah, whose swing, pace, and bounce proved too much for Pakistani batters to handle in advantageous conditions.

Imamul Haq, who scored nine runs off 18 balls, was swiftly despatched by Bumrah. Later, Hardik Pandya, who came in as the first change bowler, kept the Pakistani hitters under pressure.

He eventually ended Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam’s terrible inning, in which he scored only ten runs off 24 balls. Pandya bowled Azam cleanly with an inswinger that appeared late and upset his stumps.

Unfortunately, rain interrupted the contest in the 11th over, bringing it to a halt. Fans are hoping for the match to resume, but it will be contingent on the weather.
