PCB seeks reimbursement from ACC for money lost owing to low turnout in the Asia Cup’s Sri Lanka leg. Zaka Ashraf wanted Pakistan to host the entire Asia Cup, which was not possible because to political tensions between India and Pakistan.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) are still at odds. In the most recent incident, the Zaka Ashraf-led board claim compensation from ACC for low turnout in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 leg in Sri Lanka. Notably, Pakistan intended to host the entire event on their own turf. BCCI secretary and ACC chief Jay Shah made it clear that the Indian squad not be going. Recently, the Shah emphasized that broadcasters and other shareholders were also hesitant to host the event in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka portion of the competition has had a very low turnout thus far. Many empty seats observed in Pallekele during India’s match against Nepal. As a result, PCB express their unhappiness and criticised ACC for making a last-minute venue change choice without alerting other ACC members.

Following India’s match against Nepal, members of the BCCI, SLC, and PCB met, according to Ashraf
He disclosed that the plan was to relocate from Colombo to Hambantota, but ACC changed its mind without consulting anyone.
“It was agreed in the meeting that since the forecast is that Hambantota will remain dry. The matches in Colombo should be move there. ” Ashraf wrote in the letter.
He also express his dissatisfaction with how Pakistan treat and overlook when critical choices on the tournament and venues made. Meanwhile, their squad has perform admirably on the field. The Babar Azam-led team overcame Bangladesh by seven wickets in the opening Super Four match of the Asia Cup and will now face archrivals India.
The pacers are in fantastic form right now, with Haris Rauf taking four wickets and Naseem Shah taking three against the Bangla Tigers. Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan dominated at the crease to complete the task in Lahore.
