Trent Rockets get their first win of the season thanks to Nat Sciver-Brunt’s fireworks. The Trent Rockets captain finished the game with four straight sixes.
Nat Sciver Brunt’s merciless striking turned the game on its head in Match 16 of The Hundred 2023 Women’s between London Spirit and Trent Rockets. In the second innings, the Rockets needed 35 points to win from 20 balls while chasing 125. Sciver Brunt (57* off 37) and Joanne Gardner (6 off 8) were batting together when they chose to take on Grace Scrivens.
Gardner earned ten points in the first two balls and returned the strike to her captain. Who immediately went into beast mode. The Rockets’ captain first smashed two massive maximums against Scrivens before giving Danielle Gibson the same treatment to cap things off in style.

Sciver Brunt played a true captain’s knock as she scored an unbeaten 81* (41) smashing nine fours and four sixes in her innings. Courtesy of her stupendous innings, Rockets chased down 125 with 14 balls to spare and won the match by five wickets to register their first win of the season. They’re now ranked fifth on the points table with one win from four matches having three points to their name.
Sciver Brunt also name Player of the Match for her innings. Which propell her to fourth place on the season’s run scorers list. The Tokyo native has 134 runs in three innings this season, with an average of 67 and a strike rate of 165.43.
Rockets next face Welsh Fire on August 14
Earlier in the first innings, London produced 124/4. With Danielle Gibson (36 off 27), Amelia Kerr (36 off 30), and Richa Ghosh (20 off 18) making significant contributions. Kristie Gordon was the Rockets’ top bowler, with statistics of 2/19 in 20 balls.
Meanwhile, Rockets will be aiming to maintain their winning streak when they face Welsh Fire on Monday, August 14 at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.
