The national squad will face the Caribbean side in a multi-format series that will include two Tests, their first in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle, three ODIs, and five T20Is.
The team is led by Rohit Sharma. India was humiliated by Australia in the recently conclude ICC WTC 2021-23 final at The Oval in London. Faced with a humiliating 209-run defeat, Rohit and the management were chastise for their performance in the summit showdown.

Furthermore, he led the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2023, appearing in the most of the franchise’s games prior to the WTC final.
According to the latest developments, Rohit may be rested for a few matches during the next West Indies tour. According to a source close to the situation, the skipper could be rested for the Tests or the eight-match white-ball series.
“During the IPL and the World Test Championship final in England, Rohit (Sharma) appeared a little jaded.” The selectors want him to take a break during the West Indies tour. He’ll very likely miss the Tests and the subsequent eight-match white-ball series (three ODIs and five T20Is). “The selectors will consult with Rohit before making a decision,” a source informed the TOI.
Notably, Rohit appeared out of form with the bat, managing only 15 and 43 in the match against the Aussies. Rohit had a disappointing IPL season as well, scoring 332 runs in 16 outings at an unimpressive average of 20.75.
The selectors have yet to choose the squads for the multi-format series. The selection committee, on the other hand, may shortly unveil the official lineup that will fly to the West Indies for the series in the following weeks.
