Wasim Akram Discusses His Rehab Experience
“She said there’s a rehab where you could go. I said well, I’ll go there for a month, but they held me there against my will for two and a half months. That appears to be unlawful around the world, but not in Pakistan. That didn’t assist me at all. When I came out, I filled with rage. It’s my money, and I forced to stay in that dreadful environment “He went on to say.
Speaking further about his recovery experience, Akram stated: “In western films, and even in Australia, rehabs have wonderful huge lawns, people give lectures, and you go to the gym. But I went to a location (in Pakistan) that had a hallway and eight rooms. It was quite difficult. It was a terrible period.”
“Then tragedy struck, and my wife died.” I realized I was on the wrong track and wanted to get off it. I have two small children. In Western society, a father is involved 50/50. (with the mother). You get out of bed in the morning, drop your child off at school, pick them up, and change their clothing. As a father, we never do that in our society. It is now the wife’s turn. It is our responsibility to go out and raise cash. For two years, I was lost. I had no idea where I was supposed to get clothing for them.
