Due to a hip injury, Mark Wood to miss the opening Test against Pakistan. Mark Wood was one of England’s most successful bowlers during the T20 World Cup 2022, taking nine wickets.
England bowler Mark Wood’s participation for the first Test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi is in question due to a hip ailment. He suffered the injury during the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, forcing him to miss both the semifinal and the huge final. Which the Three Lions won on both occasions to win the prized trophy for the second time.
Wood is presently in the United Kingdom, where his recovery is claimed to be doing well. Meanwhile, England Test captain Ben Stokes has stated that both Mark Wood and middle-order hitter Harry Brook were given two weeks off following the T20 World Cup.
The England team management handled Wood’s workload really well in the run-up to the T20 World Cup. Wood appeared in only two of England’s seven T20Is during their recent tour to Pakistan in preparation for the World Cup in Australia.
Wood took six wickets in two games during the Pakistan series at a remarkable economy rate of 5.50. With his brute speed, he hustle the Pakistan hitters and was able to produce heat from the slow tracks.

Prior to his injury, Wood put up strong performances with the ball for England, taking up nine wickets in four matches at the T20 carnival in Australia.
The bowler suffered an elbow injury earlier this year during the opening Test match against the West Indies in Antigua. The severity of the injury kept him out of play for several months and force him to miss the IPL 2022, when he slate to represent Lucknow Super Giants.
