Even after the latter was dismissed for a destructive 69, Kohli hit a flawless six off Pat Cummins. It appear that he and Hardik Pandya would comfortably lead India home. After the game, Kohli admitted that the game only went that far. Because he was unable to connect with a few shots following Suryakumar’s dismissal, and that the game should not have lasted that long.

“You mentioned the previous over. It was kind of like that because I hadn’t been able to connect a few before that. The game should not have lasted that long, and we should have probably had 4 or 5 to chase in the final over rather than 11 “Kohli stated.

“So it was important to keep my cool and set at least one boundary for the team, and I was able to do so, and I am grateful for that,” he added.

Kohli finished with a 63-ball 48, his 33rd half-century in T20Is.

After defeating Australia 2-1, India will now prepare to host South Africa for three Twenty20 Internationals, their final assignment in the format before the 2022 T20 World Cup, which begins next month.
