The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Monday that Mohammad Hasnain will take Shaheen Shah Afridi’s place in the squad for the upcoming Asia Cup. Hasnain, 22, has played in 18 Twenty20 Internationals for Pakistan, taking 17 wickets. Hasnain will join the team from the United Kingdom, where he is competing for Oval Invincibles in The Hundred.

Shaheen was ruled out of the Asia Cup last week after being advised to rest for 4-6 weeks. As a result, he would be unable to play in the home series against England.
Pakistan will take on India in their opener in Dubai on Sunday, 28 August, while their second Group A fixture will be against a qualifier (UAE, Kuwait, Singapore or Hong Kong) in Sharjah on Friday, 2 September.
The Super Four matches will take place from September 3 to September 9.
