Virat Kohli notably missing the West Indies T20I squad, Ashwin and KL Rahul return. The team will be led by Rohit Sharma, with the absence of Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah. KL Rahul has returned to the squad, but his inclusion is conditional on his fitness.
The All-India Senior Selection Committee named the squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against the West Indies on Thursday. Rohit Sharma will captain the team, with Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah missing out. KL Rahul has been reintroduce to the team. His inclusion, however, is conditional on his physical condition. Veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also been call up, while leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has been left out of the squad. According to PTI, Kohli and Bumrah have both been rested for the series, despite no mention of this in the BCCI release or tweet.
Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, and Ishan Kishan all named to India’s T20I squad for the upcoming series against the West Indies. The five-match T20I series against the West Indies begins on July 29, but three one-day internationals (ODIs) begin on July 22.

Kuldeep Yadav has also been named to the squad, but his participation is conditional on his fitness.
Earlier, the squad for the one-day international series against the West Indies announced, with the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and Jasprit Bumrah all rested. Umran Malik not included in the squad, whereas Arshdeep Singh is.
All eyes will be on the performances of youngsters Deepak Hooda, Avesh Khan, and Arshdeep Singh, who will compete for a spot in the squad for the ICC T20 World Cup, which will be held in Australia in October-November.
KL Rahul’s return from injury will be critical as India looks to secure its top-order positions.
Kohli has been out of form recently and missed India’s first ODI against England due to a groin strain. Due to the injury, his participation in the second ODI later today is also in doubt.
