Salman Butt: Shaheen Afridi is on able to compete with Jasprit Bumrah. Butt also stated that Bumrah and Shaheen should not be compared.
Jasprit Bumrah bowled brilliantly in the first ODI against England. Recording career-best figures of 6/19 to lead India to a 10-wicket victory at the Oval. The pacer reclaimed the top spot in the most recent ICC ODI rankings after a ferocious performance in the series opener.
Former cricketers such as Nasser Hussain and Sachin Tendulkar have referred to Bumrah as the best all-rounder in the world right now. His performances in the recent Test match, T20I series, and now ODI series have convinced experts. Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt, on the other hand, believes that left-armer Shaheen Shah Afridi is on par with Bumrah.
“See, Shaheen hasn’t played as much cricket as you, but he’s one of the best. ” He is nothing less than him (Bumrah). In fact, Shaheen will only get better with experience, and then he will have more pace and offer a different angle,” Butt said on his YouTube channel.
Butt lavished praise on the two top bowlers, proclaiming them the best in the field with the new ball. In comparison to Bumrah, Shaheen Afridi is a newcomer to the setup, having entered the international arena in 2018, five years after Bumrah debuted in 2013. As a result, he played in fewer matches than Bumrah, who is already well-known in international cricket.
“See, both are world-class bowlers, and watching them bowl is a thrilling experience.” It’s a lot of fun to watch Bumrah and Shaheen bowl, and the way they bowl with the new ball makes it feel like a wicket could fall at any time. This is something you don’t get from watching any other bowler,” he added.

There should be no comparison: Butt
Shaheen Afridi has had a significant impact in his brief career as a result of some outstanding performances that he has displayed over time. One of his most memorable performances was against India in the group stage of the 2021 T20 World Cup. Butt believes there should be no comparison between the two based on the number of games they have both played.
“However, it is not easy for a 21-year-old bowler to perform in the manner that he has. Both are excellent. Obviously, Bumrah has played a lot more and is a fantastic performer, so there should be no comparison at the moment. “One has a lot of experience, the other not so much,” he explained.
