The league’s current 74 matches per season will be increase to 94 in 2027.
Next month, the governing ICC is expect to discuss the 2024-2031 FTP calendar.

This year’s IPL featured two new franchises, one of which, Gujarat Titans, defeated Rajasthan Royals in front of 100,000 fans in Ahmedabad on May 29.
Gujarat and Lucknow Super Giants each paid $1.7 billion to join the league, which will remain a 10-team affair “for the time being,” according to Shah.
“Expanding the IPL further will depend on many factors, such as expanding the talent pool without sacrificing talent quality, strengthening grassroots, constructing the necessary infrastructure, and many other factors,” he said.
Shah denied that extending the IPL window would jeopardize India’s commitment to international cricket.
“The BCCI remains committed to international cricket, and this includes more than just marquee series like India vs. England or India vs. Australia,” he said.
“We want to create a comprehensive calendar with the goal of assisting associate nations with consistent and regular bilateral tours.”
