DC and KKR are looking for a boost in their IPL campaigns.
The Delhi Capitals will play the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League on Thursday, hoping to put the ‘no-ball’ issue behind them and gain some much-needed momentum.
Delhi lost by 15 runs to Rajasthan Royals in a game marked by a no ball controversy over a high full toss, which ended in assistant coach Pravin Amre receiving a one-match suspension. In quarantine, head coach Ricky Ponting watched the nail-biting climax and felt helpless. Now that he’s back with the squad, he’s optimistic about regaining momentum and allowing his players to reach their full potential.
With three wins in seven games, the Delhi Capitals are presently sixth in the points table. KKR are in seventh place after losing their last four games. With David Warner, Prithvi Shaw, Rishabh Pant, and Powell in the Delhi batting line-up, KKR’s diverse attack will have to be on its toes to stop the onslaught.
Warner stumbled against the Royals after hitting three consecutive fifties and would need to be raring to play another significant knock. The same goes for Shaw, who needs to turn his early leads into large gains. Sarfaraz Khan, Delhi’s most recent number three option, too failed, and it is unclear whether he would be benched or not.
Gasp, along side all-rounders Lalit Yadav, Shardul Thakur, and Axar Patel, would have to be bear more duty. Gasp has the capacity to modify any amusement on his possess, but he hasn’t however lived up to his full potential, and the captain will be looking to do so on Thursday at the Wankhede, where the tracks have helped hitters.

When you include in Powell’s six-hitting expertise, Delhi has all the capability they require. Delhi’s bowling has performed honorably, but they must disregard around Jos Buttler’s whipping. Mustafizur Rahman, who can moreover be compelling at the passing, has been helping Khaleel Ahmed in taking wickets at the beat of the arrange.
While Kuldeep Yadav has redeemed himself, Axar and Lalit, the other spinners, have also performed admirably. The trio has a total of 20 wickets between them, and their 12 overs will be crucial. Meanwhile, KKR must find the correct combination, and the batsmen, particularly skipper Iyer, must enhance their performance.
In the previous game, Shreyas failed, as did the opening combination of Sam Billings and Sunil Narine. If they keep using the same openers, the two will have to get off to a fast start. It won’t be easy for Shreyas, Nitish Rana, Rinku Singh, and Venkatesh Iyer, especially against Delhi’s experienced spinners. Pushing Venkatesh to the middle of the lineup hasn’t worked out yet.
Shreyas has stated that it is only a matter of time before KKR becomes unstoppable as a unit. Umesh Yadav and Tim Southee of the Kolkata Knight Riders have been spot on with their predictions. Varun Chakravarthy, who is having a disappointing season, appears to be the sole weak link.
