A 15-year-old tennis player slaps his rival, after losing a match.
During a tennis competition in Ghana, a scandal erupted after one of the players hit his opponent after a match. Michael Kouame and Raphael Nii Ankrah were the players involved in the incident, which occurred during the ITF Juniors tournament on Monday.
After losing the match, Kouame, 15, confronted Ghana’s slapped Ankrah in the center court. He reached for a handshake but instead struck Ankrah across the face. The incident was caught on camera by the onlookers, and the video quickly went viral.

According to social media footage, the smack ignited a full-fledged battle. The clip was first release by the Utilitarian Tennis podcast, which mention in an Instagram post on Tuesday that the video will be take down. According to the New York Post, a tennis instructor obtained the clip and published it on Twitter, where it quickly gained traction. It has seen over 7.38 lakh times on Twitter. The top seed in the competition, French tennis star Kouame, dropped the first set to his opponent. After he won the first set, the match proceeded to a tie-break.
The tie-break was again a close call, but Ankrah prevailed in the end. 6-2, 6-7, 7-6 was the final score.
The Ghanaian was surprise by Kouame’s smack and fought with the Frenchman during the brawl. What prompted Kouame to lash out at Ankrah is unknown.

Ankrah has moved to the second round, where he will face fellow Ghanaian Ishmael Nii Nortey Dowuona.
He also competed in a doubles match against Davide Brunetti of Italy and Michael Kaouk of France.
