The Ferrari drivers support the FIA’s revamp of race control.
In response to Michael Masi’s replacement as race director at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix; Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and also Carlos Sainz praised the governing FIA’s revamping of Formula One’s race control system. The Ferrari drivers support the FIA’s revamp of race control.
In a video released online on Thursday, the federation’s newly-elected president Mohammed; Ben Sulayem said the Australian will be replaced by Niels Wittich and Eduardo Freitas, who will alternate as race directors.

Masi came under fire after modifying the safety car process in Abu Dhabi; to build up a last-lap showdown between championship contenders Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Masi thrust into the race director post after revere predecessor Charlie Whiting died ahead of the 2019 season.
