The Delhi Capitals (DC) have signed David Warner for Rs 6.25 crore in the ongoing IPL 2022 Mega Auction in Bengaluru on Saturday. After a dismal IPL 2021 season in which he was strip of his captaincy, the flamboyant hitter was release by SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH). However, the opener bounced back spectacularly and was instrumental in Australia’s T20 World Cup triumph last year. Former cricketer Wasim Jaffer believes the franchise got Warner for a bargain, comparing it to a “Sarojini Nagar market level bargain,” as DC fans celebrate Warner’s arrival on social media. A starting price of Rs 2 crore was set for the 35-year-old. Warner began his IPL career with the Delhi Daredevils, which became the Delhi Capitals in December 2018.
“Delhi residents are notorious for striking a bargain,” Jaffer joked on Koo, “but obtaining David Warner for just 6.25cr is a Sarojini Nagar market level bargain #IPLAuction2022 #IPL2022.”

Pat Cummins, Warner’s rival, has been selecting by the Kolkata Knight Riders in the upcoming auction (KKR). He was purchase for Rs 7.25 crore by the franchise.
