Lahore Qalandars End Multan Sultans’ Winning Run in Pakistan Super League
Multan Sultans‘ unbeaten record in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season seven came to an end on Friday; as Lahore Qalandars defeated them in the 17th match of the competition at the Gaddafi Stadium. After winning the toss, the Sultans chose to bowl first; and Qalandars opener Fakhar Zaman (player of the match) continued his impressive run; with the bat in the tournament with another 50+ contribution. In his 60 off 37 balls, the left-hander smacked five fours and two sixes; bringing his total to 416 runs (most in the ongoing season).
Fakhar added 86 runs for the second wicket with Kamran Ghulam’s 42 off 38 deliveries (six fours). After a hesitant start; the experienced Qalandars hitter Mohammad Hafeez increased the pace; in the death overs, slamming three sixes and also one four in his 29-ball 43.

With an undefeated 26 off 13 balls, Phil Salt put the finishing touches; on the Qalandars’ 182 for four total (two fours, one six). For the Sultans, Anwar Ali, Imran Tahir, Shahnawaz Dahani, and Abbas Afridi each got a wicket.
The Qalandars bowling team comfortably protected their 182-run score, while Sultans suffered their first batting failure of the competition.
