Haris Rauf and Shan Masood have been selected for the Australia Test team.
H. Rauf and Shan Masood have been review by Pakistan who name; them in their 16-man squad for the domestic Tests against Australia, which start on Walk 4 in Rawalpindi.
Rauf replaces off-spinner Bilal Asif in the team, who was a member of the Test squad; for the series against South Africa and Zimbabwe last year. Asif was a member of Pakistan’s squad during their visit of Bangladesh, however he did not play. His most recent Test appearance was against New Zealand in 2018.
Masood has been brought back to replace the vacuum left by Abid Ali; who is still recovering from Acute Coronary Syndrome after being diagnosed. Yasir Shah, along with Naseem Shah and Mohammad Abbas, is include in the five-man reserves, which is unusual. Yasir last played a Test match in the West Indies in August 2021.

“For the vital home series against Australia, we have opted for consistency; and have only made changes when absolutely required,” stated Chief Selector Muhammad Wasim. “This is to instil confidence in the players, reward them for their outstanding; performances in the lengthier edition of the game in 2021, and continue to develop the team for the future.”
In the domestic circuit, these are the best available, most skilled, and in-form players. I’m optimistic they’ll put forth a strong showing against a difficult Australian team.”

Former spinner Saqlain Mushtaq will remain as head coach for another 12 months; while Shaun Tait will be hire as fast bowling coach for the same time period, according to the PCB. Meanwhile, Mohammad Yousuf will be the batting coach for the Australia series.
