Charanjit Singh a hockey legend, has died.
Charanjit Singh (February 3, 1931 – January 27, 2022) was an Indian field hockey player.
Singh was the captain of India’s gold-medal-winning hockey team at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, died on Thursday at his residence in Una, Himachal Pradesh, after suffering a heart arrest as a result of age-related ailments.
The former midfielder was 90 years old and would have celebrated his 91st birthday next month. He leaves behind two kids and a daughter.
Charanjit had a stroke five years ago and has been paralyzed ever since.

“Five a long time back, my father had a stroke and got to be paralyzed. Charanjit Singh utilized to walk with a cane, but his wellbeing has declined in later months, and he passed absent this morning “V P Singh was detailed by PTI as saying. He captained the gold-winning squad in 1964, in expansion to being a portion of the silver-winning group in 1960. He was a part of the silver-winning Asian Redirections group in 1962.

“After my sister arrives in Una from Delhi, his last rites will be done today,” V P Singh said.
His wife had died 12 years before. While his elder son works as a doctor in Canada, his younger son was at his side when he passed away. His lone daughter, who is married and lives in New Delhi, is his only child.

In Una, his final rites will be performed this evening.
