Highlights of PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Mandi, Himachal Pradesh: These projects, totalling Rs 11,281 crore, aim to tap the region’s hydroelectric potential.
In Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Highlights: In a speech to a crowd in Mandi on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the newly inaugurated hydropower projects are part of a climate-friendly new India that aims to protect the environment. Modi also stated that the country’s efforts to protect the environment while still developing infrastructure are being appreciated around the world.
Modi spoke at the event after laying the foundation for 287 investment projects for a total of Rs 28,197 crores. According to Modi, the state has changed dramatically in the previous four years under the leadership of Jai Ram Thakur. Despite the pandemic, progress in the state has continued, according to Modi.

Along with various other development projects, Modi laid the ground for the Rs 6,700-crore Renukaji Dam project. The dam will significantly increase Delhi’s water supply. Also inaugurated were the Luhri Stage 1 Hydro Power Project, the Dhaulasidh Hydro Power Project, and the Sawra-Kuddu Hydro Power Project. These projects, totalling Rs 11,281 crore, aim to tap the region’s hydroelectric potential.
Modi attended the second ground-breaking ceremony of Himachal Pradesh’s Global Investors’ Meet before unveiling the projects. “ The meeting is likely to stimulate investments in the region by roughly Rs 28,000 crore through projects.
