Suryakumar Yadav of the Mumbai Indians (MI) has spoken out about his iconic ‘Main Hoon Na’ (I am there) celebration during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 game in Abu Dhabi vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
He struck an unbeaten 79 off 43 balls in MI’s five-wicket win over RCB in the 48th match of IPL 2020. The batter made a motion towards the dressing room after driving the team over the winning line, as if to say, “Don’t worry; I’ll be there.”

Suryakumar recounted the background story of the celebration in an interview with cricket commentator Vikram Sathaye. After being snubbed for the Australian tour, the 31-year-old admitted that he felt “lost” and “disappointed,” but that he was eager to make a point.
“My family says it is one of the best knocks I have played in recent past. During the tournament, everyone was telling me – ‘yes, you are scoring runs; you are contributing in every game, but we want to see you finish a game’.” he said
“Almost half the IPL was over before that match (against RCB) happened. I still remember, the Indian team (for the tour of Australia) was going to be announced. I had a good IPL 2019 and 2020 season, and I scored runs in domestic cricket as well.” he added
MI made it home with five deliveries and five wickets to spare, chasing a target of 165. Suryakumar Yadav received Player of the Match honors for his undefeated innings, which included eleven fours and three sixes.
