Despite his famous cricketing achievements, Sourav Ganguly, the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), lauded Team India coach Rahul Dravid for maintaining his modesty.
Dravid was lugging cones and wickets back to the dressing room after a practice session in Kanpur, Ganguly revealed, as an example of his down-to-earth personality.
Last month, India played New Zealand in the opening Test of a two-match series at Kanpur. This was Dravid’s first game as the Indian team’s full-time coach in the sport’s longest format. He took over as captain during the last T20I series against New Zealand, which India won 3-0.

“I wish him (Dravid) all the best. I heard that in Kanpur, after the day’s practice he was picking up the cones and wickets and balls and bringing them back to the dressing room. It must have been a great sight for cameramen and photographers to see Rahul Dravid do that (smiles). But he is that sort of a person.” he said
“We will support him and Rohit and Virat in test cricket whichever way they want.” Ganguly also assured
The next task for Team India will be a trip of South Africa, where they will play three Tests and as many ODIs, beginning on Boxing Day at SuperSport Park in Centurion.
Following the BCCI’s decision to dismiss Virat Kohli as ODI captain and also replace him with Rohit Sharma, there has been some controversy in Indian cricket. The cricket board has requested that Kohli not step down as T20I captain, according to Ganguly.
