Shreyas Iyer has had a difficult 2021, with a shoulder injury in the IPL putting a stop to his cricket. The flashy and hard-hitting batter found himself wasting valuable playing time. Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav, for example, seized the opportunities that came their way and made the most of them.
Shreyas Iyer, on the other hand, appeared to be ready to move on from his troublesome injury spell. He shared a comeback reel on Instagram, which had his colleagues and supporters roaring for the Delhi Capitals batter.
He added a simple Indian flag smiling to the post’s caption. Thus, He went from healing in a hospital bed to posing with his Test kit for the cameras in his reel.
Shreyas Iyer
Shreyas Iyer was expected to play finisher in three games, something he hasn’t done in the most of his career. His stylish comeback dreams were shattered by 30 runs in two innings at an average of 15 runs per inning. Iyer’s role has already been assessed by Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa.
“For me, the fact that Shreyas Iyer played in a position that he is not comfortable with kind of just showed up in that innings. He is the kind of batter who likes to take his time a little bit initially and then he gets going. Unfortunately for him, he finds himself in a newish kind of positio. Where he has to finish a game.” He remarked
When players who perform in IPL and domestic come into international cricket and you ask them to do something different, it is always tricks. The response can be that you’re playing for your country so you have to adapt and find a role. But, it is easier said than done, particularly when guys are used to batting at the opening position or No. 3.” he added
