Shoaib Akhtar, a former Pakistan pacer, and Dr Nauman Niaz, a TV show host, had a recent spat on PTV. The station has apparently ruled that the duo would not be able to participate in any of the channel’s programs until an investigation is completed.
The speedster has dismissed all stories of the channel kicking him out, stating that he was the one who quit, and on live television at that. The renowned cricketer clarified the situation on social media.
T20 World Cup 2021
On PTV’s post-match broadcast, Shoaib Akhtar got into a furious argument with host Dr Nauman Naiz. This happened after Pakistan beat New Zealand by five wickets in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021 on Tuesday. The illustrious cricketer was asked to leave the show in the middle.
Following that, Akhtar resigned from his position as a cricket analyst at the channel. He expressed his dissatisfaction with Naiz’s treatment of him throughout the live show. He then immediately walked away after removing his microphone.
Following the event, the speedster took to social media to offer his side of the story in a video. He said he expected the host to apologize and move on with the show so he wouldn’t be embarrassed.
However, when Niaz refused to apologize, Akhtar felt he had no choice but to leave the program. Viv Richards and David Gower, in addition to the former fast bowler, were among the panel’s other guests, who appeared obviously upset by the proceedings.
