Cricket South Africa has agreed to issue a directive requiring all of its players to take a knee before all of their remaining T20 World Cup 2021 matches after much consideration. The entire delegation has shown its support in the battle against racism in only a few of the tournament’s games.
The South African cricket board has issued a directive urging all players to take a knee in protest of racism, with different teams taking different measures.
“A commitment to overcoming racism is the glue that should unite, bind and strengthen us. Race should not be manipulated to amplify our weaknesses. Diversity can and should find expression in many facets of our daily lives, but not when it comes to taking a stand against racism.” Lawson Naidoo said
Some South African players elected to kneel before the match, while others chose to stand with their arms raised.

During the India-Pakistan match, the Indian team knelt, while the Pakistani team stood with their hands on their chests. Both teams have taken the knee in a number of other matches, such as England vs. West Indies. Prior to their first game, England all-rounder Chris Jordan said that the players were considering making the gesture.
However, following their loss to Australia in the opening match of the Super 12s, South Africa will meet the defending champions, the West Indies, who are coming off a loss to England.
In Dubai, South Africa won the toss and chose to bowl first against the West Indies for the afternoon match. Temba Bavuma confirmed a single change to the side, with Reeza Hendricks taking the place of Quinton de Kock.
