Three days before India’s T20 World Cup 2021 match against Pakistan, Aakash Chopra dubbed India’s batting top-three of KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli as the “best in the world.”
However, the former opener remarked in a video released to his YouTube account that India’s top three batters have each scored over 1500 runs since the tournament’s last edition in 2016. Despite not playing all T20Is, the three have helped the Indian team become “very robust.” Aakash Chopra
“Our top-three is the best in the world boss. And I am not saying this because I am an Indian. If you bring out the T20 batting stats since 2016, of course, Babar Azam has No.1 because he has made 2204 runs… but Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli – all three have made over 1500 runs. And the big thing is these three premier players don’t play a lot of matches in one go. They don’t play all the T20Is and the Indian team picks and also chooses the matches for them. But still, they have 1500 means which means that our team is absolutely robust. However, They are the best in the world and we are not the only ones saying this.” Aakash Chopra said
Both Sharma and Rahul are also in good form, having each struck a half-century in the two warm-up games they have recently played. Rahul is also coming off a fantastic IPL 2021 season. Then in which he scored 626 runs at a 62.60 average.
