IPL 2021 As such, The second phase of the IPL 2021, according to Aakash Chopra, has brought forward the human form of superhuman AB de Villiers.
The cricketer-turned-commentator made the statement in response to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter’s recent slump. AB de Villiers hit two 75-plus scores during the India part of the tournament, but he hasn’t scored more than 26 runs in any of his seven innings in the UAE.
The RCB’s decision to drop him to as low as No. 6 in the batting order, according to Aakash Chopra, is to blame for the South African’s unexpected drop in form. While De Villiers has the ability to turn things around in just one inning, Chopra believes his confidence is now low.
“AB’s form, he’s a superhuman but still ‘human’. The story is you gave him a chance to not make runs by batting him so low down the order. And if you do that, how will the guy [perform], no matter how good he is? He can still turn it around. One innings can change everything but his confidence level might not be up there. This is perhaps the first time we are seeing AB in his human avatar…” Aakash Chopra said

The addition of AB de Villiers as a finisher has coincided with more exposure for Glenn Maxwell and KS Bharat. Both of those players carried the batting lineup’s weight in the UAE, ensuring the RCB’s place in the playoffs.
Maxwell was also praised by Aakash Chopra, who called him the “greatest positive” for RCB this season. Because he has scored 498 runs this season, including six fifties, he awarded the Australian all-rounder the middle name ‘consistent.’
“The biggest positive factor [for RCB] so far, amid all the ups and downs, [is that] Maxwell has been consistent. Throughout his IPL career, he has made 12 half-centuries out of which six were prior to this season and six are this season. ‘Glenn Consistent Maxwell’, I never thought I would say this because he’s always been a risk-taker. But this time he’s saying ‘Not taking risks is the biggest risk, the risk is my love’.” Aakash Chopra added
In Sharjah, RCB will face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Eliminator today at 7:30 PM IST. The winner will advance to the second Qualifier against the Delhi Capitals (DC), while the loser will be eliminated from the competition.
