Aaron Hardie is fired by Shadab Khan’s incredible grab in the BBL 2022–23. Aaron Hardie was out for the Perth Scorchers after Shadab made an incredible catch.
On December 19, while playing in the Big Bash League, Pakistani leg-spinning all-rounder Shadab Khan collected a jaw-dropping ball, displaying his amazing fielding once again. To dismiss Aaron Hardie and put his team back in the game, the 24-year-old Hobart Hurricanes star made a spectacular catch off his own bowling.
The incident occurred in the game’s penultimate over, when Perth Scorchers needed 17 runs off of ten deliveries. When Hardie realized that he was in a strong position at the crease, he planned to bowl the ball to Shadab to his right, but Shadab swiftly reacted and leaped to his right to take an unbelievable catch.
Shadab threw up just 22 runs in four overs at a 5.50 economy rate. The all-rounder scored the same number of runs with the bat off 17 deliveries with a strike rate of 129.41. However, thanks to Matthew Wade’s half-century (51 off 29 deliveries) and Tim David’s courageous efforts (46* off 28 deliveries), the Hurricanes finished at 172 after 20 overs.

Hurricanes defeated Scorchers by eight runs
Scorchers needed a fast start to chase the total, and Faf du Plessis provided them with exactly that. The 38-year-old smashed the Hurricanes bowlers, scoring 32 off 16 deliveries, and soon after, wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis rose to the occasion, blasting 62 off 37 deliveries.
Despite a promising start, the Scorchers lost steam when Inglis was bowled in the tournament’s 15th over. Patrick Dooley knocked out Inglis and put up an outstanding performance to help the Hurricanes win their opening game of the season. After capturing four wickets in four overs, the 25-year-old left-arm wrist spinner was named Player of the Match.
“Fantastic atmosphere here, it’s our second home, the boys put up an absolute show. It was an awesome effort from all the boys. He was trying to back away and hit a six over cover. It’s the nature of T20 cricket, I’ll try to give me best,”
Dooley said.
