Babar achieved this significant milestone in Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium. The Peshawar Zalmi captain’s remarkable feat comes as no surprise to those familiar with his batsmanship. Babar has been a consistent performer across formats, establishing himself as one of modern cricket’s greatest batsmen.

Babar Azam breaks Chris Gayle’s long-standing record
Babar broke the legendary Gayle’s record, which had stood for nearly seven years, in the 271st innings. Notably, other cricketing legends such as Virat Kohli and David Warner trail Babar on this illustrious list, emphasizing the magnitude of his achievement. Gayle reached this milestone in 285 innings, Kohli in 299, and Warner in 303.
He showcased his brilliance in the opening match of the tournament against Quetta Gladiators, becoming the first batter in PSL history to reach the 3000-run mark. He could have reached the 10000-run mark in this match itself before being dismissed. Babar got out after scoring a valiant 72 runs off 51 balls, with the help of seven boundaries and one six.
