The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is likely to introduce a unique incentive package for uncapped players at the forthcoming IPL auction, in a surprising turn of events relating to the Indian Premier League (IPL). This massive project intends to recognize players who earn international caps between IPL seasons.
A player is typically obligated to pay the league fee for three years or until released by the franchise that acquired them at the IPL auction. However, in some cases, the league cost for an uncapped player may increase significantly. If an uncapped player gets to appear in 10 international games over the course of two IPL seasons, their pay could be doubled.
The BCCI outlined a fee regulation for uncapped players in a recent message
Underlining the absence of minimum league price regulations. The key points of the regulation state that if an uncapped player whose league fee is less than Rs. 50 Lakhs becomes capped or achieves five or ten caps between the end of one season and the start of the next, their league fee for the following season and subsequent seasons may be significantly increased.
For example, if a player has one cap, the league fee is Rs. 50 lakhs, Rs. 75 lakhs for 5-9 caps, and Rs. one crore for ten or more caps. If the player is trade, the fee structure stays in effect. Affecting the new franchise’s salary cap.
The BCCI has separated between capped and uncapped players to offer clarity. Uncapped players are those who have never played in an ICC Full Member’s starting XI or do not have a Central Contract with their national cricket body. For IPL purposes, players from ICC Associate member countries are deem uncapped.

Mallika Sagar will make her IPL auction debut in Dubai
Concurrently, the BCCI announced a change in the auctioneer for the forthcoming event in Dubai. Ms Mallika Sagar, an independent professional auctioneer, will preside over the sale on December 19. She will make the final call on all aspects of the auction. This is a change from previous foreign auctioneers, with Sagar succeeding Hugh Edmeades and Richard Madley.
“An independent professional auctioneer, Ms. Mallika Sagar, will conduct the auction, and she will be the sole arbiter in all aspects of the auction. ” The BCCI inform franchises, according to Cricbuzz.
