Kerala Police registers a cheating case against S Sreesanth

The Kerala Police have just filed a cheating charge against former Indian cricketer S Sreesanth. Sareesh Gopalan of Kerala’s Choonda filed the case, alleging that two other accused, Rajiv Kumar and Venkatesh Kini, stole Rs.18.70 lakh from him in the pretext of developing a sports academy in Karnataka’s Kollur.

Sreesanth is purportedly a partner in the new institution, and Gopalan state he invest the money after being offer the chance to join him. Sreesanth was named as the third offender in the case, which filed under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) (cheating and dishonestly inducing the handover of property). The former Indian bowler ban for life by the BCCI in August 2013 on suspicions of spot-fixing during IPL season 6. The Supreme Court reduced his suspension to seven years in 2019, which he completed in September 2020.

Sreesanth’s bowling heroics helped his side clinch a win in Legends League Cricket

Sreesanth is now participating in the Legend League Cricket and bowling quite effectively. He can still swing the ball early on and bowl beautiful Yorkers late in the game. In a recent encounter versus Bhiwara Kings, he bowled a stunning final over to secure his team’s victory.

In the last over, he had 13 runs to defend against Lendl Simmons, who on strike at 92. Sreesanth hit for a six off the opening ball and had to defend seven runs in the final five balls. His outstanding yorkers in the ninth inning helped his side win by three runs.
