Tim Paine, a former Australia cricketer, has been named as a part-time coach of the Australia Under-19 and A teams. The appointment came eight months after he lambasted Cricket Australia (CA) in his book ‘The Price Paid: A Story of Life, Cricket, and Lessons Learned’ for forcing him out as Australia’s Test captain.

Notably, he was asked to resign from his position following a sexting incident that became public. Despite the fact that two previous investigations had cleared him. However, he later resigned from the Australian and Tasmanian teams.

Paine express dissatisfaction with Cricket Australia’s handling of the situation, noting that such incidents will occur under Nick Hockley’s leadership. He also stated that he made a mistake and paid for it, and that it was not personal. He also stated that he has close ties with Cricket Australia and Hockley.

“I’ve said the whole time that I obviously disagreed with how it handled at the time. But being in the shoes of someone like Nick Hockley’s (Cricket Australia CEO), leadership is bloody tough, and you’ve got to make tough decisions.”

“We disagreed about how something should have been handled, but we’re all grown adults now, and we’ve moved on.” I’ve spoken with Nick several times, and I’ve also spoken with [high-performance manager] Ben Oliver. Everything is fine. “Everything is water under the bridge,” he added.

I do see my new role as a genuine path: Paine

Paine went on to say that he believes coaching is a legitimate career option and is eager to pursue it. The 38-year-old stated that he has been a cricketer and skipper and does not want to go into jobs like the Big Bash or Cricket Tasmania right away.

“I see it as a genuine path, but I want to make sure that when I fully commit to it, I’m completely prepare for and capable of it.” “Because I’ve been a cricketer and an Australian captain, I don’t want to be able to walk into jobs like the Big Bash or Cricket Tasmania or whatever without having done some sort of apprenticeship,” Paine continued.
