During the rain delay on Sunday, India icon and 1983 World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev offered his thoughts on Dhoni’s possible IPL retirement. During a rain break, Kapil spoke to ABP News and praised Dhoni for bringing the team to the finals of the 16th edition of the IPL. He also stated that the four-time IPL winner will not play his entire life.
“He’s been in the IPL for 15 years.” Why is it that we are just discussing Dhoni? He has completed his task. What else do we expect from him? Do we want him to play his entire life? That will never happen. Instead, we should be grateful that he played for 15 years. Whether he plays next year or not, he played well before leaving. He may not have scored many runs, but he guided the side to the final, demonstrating the significance of a captain in the game of cricket,” remarked Kapil.
