CSK and LSG most likely be hoping that RCB loses to SRH: Aakash Chopra. “A team on 14 might still qualify, but no one will be able to reach 15,” Aakash Chopra remarked.
The 65th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will be played on Thursday, May 18 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad between the 2016 season champions Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The game would be a must-win for Royal Challengers Bangalore, who are still hoping to advance to the tournament’s knockout stages. Bangalore is presently fifth in the IPL points rankings, with 12 points from 12 games. If they win their next two games, they would end the group stage with 16 points, which could cause problems for Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants.

CSK and LSG are now in second and third place in the standings, with 15 points apiece.
With the points table so close, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra stated that both Chennai and Lucknow would be hoping that Bangalore loses their upcoming encounter.
“Both Chennai and Lucknow will probably be praying that Bangalore loses because as soon as they lose. The ‘Q’ will be put in front of their names because only one team will be able to reach 16 points, and that is Mumbai,” Aakash Chopra said in a YouTube video.
Furthermore, Aakash Chopra stated that if Bangalore loses their game against Hyderabad, Lucknow and Chennai will have nothing to worry about because they will finish with 14 points if they win their last game, and since both the second and third-placed teams on the table will have 15 points each, their qualification will be secure.
“Even if Bangalore wins (their final game), they will be stop at 14.” Mumbai may also be halted at 14. So, while a team on 14 may still qualify, no one will be able to reach 15. If Hyderabad wins today, Chennai’s match against Delhi and Lucknow’s match against Kolkata will be meaningless,” Aakash Chopra added.
