After Sam Curran’s dismal performance against RCB, Virender Sehwag criticizes him. ‘You can’t buy experience with 18 crore’. RCB defeated PBKS by a score of 24 runs.

Youngster Sam Curran was give the reins to lead Punjab Kings against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Shikhar Dhawan’s absence. Notably, under his strong leadership, Punjab overcame Lucknow Super Giants earlier in the IPL 2023 season, but as former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag noted, Curran struggled with several judgments against RCB.

The 44-year-old said he had hoped the all-rounder would show off his bat, but sadly that didn’t happen. Sehwag stated that Curran should have played with more maturity and should have gone deep in the game, but the cricketer ultimately lost his wicket in a horrible way. Finally, he criticized him for being inattentive when racing between the wickets and said that 18 crores would not provide Punjab with the necessary experience. Notably, the England international was out after being hit on 10, and the hosts went on to lose by a score of 24 runs.

Virender Sehwag: You’re captain, Tried to take it to the final overs

“He’s an international player. But you can’t buy experience with 18 crore. It only comes when you play, when your hair turns white as you play under the hot sun. We think just because he was bought for 18 crore, he will win you matches. But he doesn’t have that experience yet,”

He stated.

There was no need for that, and it ran poorly. You should have stayed and attempted to win it in the last few overs, captain. But once more, his inexperience cost him,” Sehwag stated in a Cricbuzz interview.

On the other hand, RCB’s match was once again steered by Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis. They got off to a great start, and as a result, the host team scored 174 runs. Wanindu Hasaranga took two, but Mohammed Siraj was outstanding with the ball, taking four wickets. Siraj excelled in the dying phases as well as with the new ball. In order to win the match, RCB limited PBKS to 150 runs.

Despite eventually being included in the PBKS starting lineup, Liam Livingstone, an England international, struggled against RCB. The cricketer will aim to improve as the Kings are now seventh on the IPL Points Table after he scored two runs off of four deliveries.
