Aakash Chopra’s direct message to Ruturaj Gaikwad ahead of the IPL 2023 season. On March 31, Chennai will play their opening match of the season against the Gujarat Titans.
Following a dismal season the previous year, Chennai Super Kings will look to make a return in the 16th edition of the IPL and contend for the famous championship once again. In order to accomplish so, they recruited some top-quality players in the IPL 2023 auction. Including Ben Stokes, Ajinkya Rahane, and Sisanda Magala, among many others. But former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has reservations about CSK’s strategy for the upcoming season.

“As we witnessed in the World Cup, he (Stokes) takes his time in the center.” He bats better at No. 3 as well, and his sole century in the IPL came when he batted higher in the order. As a result, it’s difficult to grasp what’s going on there. “Because Robin (Uthappa) is no longer present, were they looking for a replacement?” Chopra stated this in a video posted on his YouTube account.
“It’s probable that Ruturaj Gaikwad will hit the ground running.” Right now, he begins slowly and increases up speed as the innings progress. Yet the days of diesel engines are passed; now we have electric vehicles. “Ruturaj must become an electric car,” he continued, referring to Gaikwad.
Importantly, the MS Dhoni-led team will kick off their season on March 31 against the reigning champions Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Prior to that, the Men in Yellow played several intrasquad matches at their home ground, Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium, where the captain received a warm welcome from the home crowd.
