This fiscal year saw an increase in net tax revenue as well. The I-T department’s most recent data show that in FY2022-23, the net collection increased by 19.81%.
It was $11,35,754 crore, 80% of a full-year Budget target, compared to $9,47,959 crore in the same time of the prior fiscal year.
The CBDT added that the rate of processing income tax returns submitted during the current financial year has increased significantly, with about 96.5% of the lawfully validated ITRs processed as of December 17.
