‘Feels like I’m not needed’ – Cameron Green. “It’s been a strange start to the summer for myself not having to do too much,” Green remarked.
Cameron Green, an all-rounder, has had little opportunity to shine this summer in Australia. After not receiving an opportunity to bat against the West Indies in Perth. The 23-year-old has scored nine and five runs in the second Test in Adelaide. Green scored 18 in the first innings of the first Test against South Africa at the Gabba, while being not out on zero in the second.
Despite a strong start in the first two innings, the over-spiced pitch at the Gabba proved too much for him, as he was unable to score. With the ball, the young bowler bowled only 32 overs in three Tests, and he believes the team does not require him right now. Green also stated that it has been a “wonderful start” for him.

Cameron Green: It is an indicator that the squad is now playing good cricket.
“It’s been a strange start to the summer for myself not having to do too much,” Green told reporters in Melbourne. “As an allrounder, you’re the man who steps up when the team needs it. At the moment, I don’t feel like I’m truly required. It’s most likely a reflection of how well the team is performing. We’ve been winning cricket games, and that’s what you want.”
Green is preparing for the Boxing Day Test despite the fact that he is not receiving enough opportunity to demonstrate his quality. The cricketer stated that he is currently doing well in the nets and is in a good place.
“All you have to look at is how you’re training, and I’m in a fairly good place,” he explained. “I’m doing good with my swing. If you don’t get a lot of gaming time, that’s the only way to see how you’re doing. In the nets, I’m feeling really well.”
