We have a relatively inexperienced batting lineup: Rabada, Kagiso. South Africa were dismiss for 152 and 99 runs in the first Test against Australia at the Gabba.
After South Africa demolish by Australia by six wickets in the first Test at the Gabba. Star bowler Kagiso Rabada stepped out to draw attention to the country’s problems in the longest version of the game.
“Responsibility” is the process of determining whether or not a person is responsible for their own behavior. Deal Elgar’s team’s batsmen were remove for just 152 and 99 runs in the first and second innings, respectively. while the Australians thoroughly outperformed them.
Due to their bowlers, they manage to stay in the game. But the Australians were able to win with just 34 runs needed in the final innings.
According to Rabada, South African hitters are inexperienced in contrast to their contemporaries from the other Test-playing nations, and this might be a decisive factor. Despite the fact that the team is presently being rebuilt, the speedster admitted that it may be aggravating at times, but he understands.
“The batting line-up that we have is quite inexperienced. In fact, the team that we have is relatively inexperienced if you look at other cricketing nations. Dean Elgar is our most experienced player followed by myself and Temba.
“I’ve played 50-odd Test matches and everyone else hasn’t played much. It can get frustrating as well and when I say frustrating I don’t mean to single out the batters, it’s frustrating as a team and you almost have to understand that sometimes this is what happens in a rebuilding phase,”
Rabada said.
There must be an element of patience and comprehension: Rabada
The 27-year-old has enough experience to recognize that the squad must be patient in order to get the desired result. He also stated that the squad cannot defend poor performances, but there is hope that they can deliver match-winning performances in the near future.
“So, there needs to be an element of patience and understanding but at the same time, you can’t advocate for bad performances. However, we’re quite positive.
If you don’t have the belief, then I don’t think we’d be able to go out and produce performances like we have. It’s all down to belief and I think we have the belief. We will never go down without a fight,”
He added.
