Suryakumar Yadav is the type of man that doesn’t have any baggage: Mr. Rohit Sharma. ‘I don’t think he has it in him to shoulder that extra strain,’ Rohit Sharma said.

The Men in Blue have had a remarkable ride thus far in the T20 World Cup 2022, owing in large part to Suryakumar Yadav. And it’s not like he appear out of nowhere and change the game’s look. Yadav, often known as SKY, has been engage in local cricket for a long time, but he truly came to prominence following a succession of excellent performances, notably in the IPL.

His amazing batting performance against RCB in Abu Dhabi during the 2020 IPL captivated the globe. He brought it up on the day he was ruled out of the Australia trip. He guided the Mumbai Indians to a thrilling victory over Virat Kohli’s RCB, batting 79 off 43 balls. Because of this performance, he was never ignored again, and he made his India debut barely six months later.

In the present environment, he has been outperforming experienced players like as Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and even Virat Kohli, and the Indian captain agrees. When compared to top-order batsmen, Yadav’s strike rate while batting in the middle order is likely the best.

When a reporter questioned the captain during the pre-match news conference about the importance of Suryakumar Yadav and how he may influence the outcome of the semi-final match against England.

“He (SKY) is a sort of guy who just doesn’t carry any baggage with him. Not his suitcases, I mean he is got a lot of suitcases. Honestly speaking, he loves his shopping. But when it comes to carrying that extra pressure I don’t think he has that in him. And you can see that when he plays. And he is been playing that for a year now. I don’t know if you have heard him talk at the interviews, he bats in same fashion.”

He said.

For athletes, everything they have done throughout their careers does not define them in a single knockout game: Sharma

On Thursday, November 10, India and England will face off. At the Adelaide Oval, they will compete in the second semi-final. A win would place India in an ICC tournament final for the first time in over five years. In terms of the relevance of such knockout games, Sharma noted that a bad knockout game cannot define the careers of dedicated players who have contributed significantly to Indian cricket over a long period of time.

“I think knockout games are important. Because you get to play only once and there is one opportunity to do well in that knockout game. But for players what they have done in their entire career doesn’t define them by just one knockout game. You know the entire year you work so hard and to do well in whichever format you want to play. So that one particular game is not going to decide that. I think we do understand the importance of knockout, but at the same time it is important to realise what sort of effort you put in an entire year to come to that stage. For us as a player and as a team we can pride ourselves as because we saw two of the quality teams that got knocked out,”

He added.
