“I Wish He Gets a Century, But Not Against Us,” Pakistani Star Says of Kohli. Shadab Khan, Pakistan’s vice-captain, has stated that he would like to see Virat Kohli score a century in the Asia Cup, but not against his team.
Players from both camps have been seen interacting with each other during training in Dubai ahead of the much-anticipated India-Pakistan clash in the Asia Cup 2022. Virat Kohli, who hasn’t scored a century in over 1,000 days, is the talk of the town, and everyone is looking forward to seeing how the ace batter performs after being rested for the series against the West Indies and Zimbabwe. Shaheen Shah Afridi was seen interacting with Kohli, telling him that he is praying for his return.

Pakistani Star Shadab Khan has stated that he would like to see Virat Kohli score a century in the Asia Cup, but not against his team.
“Because the former players are not currently playing, they believe (Virat does not instil same fear). When you’re not playing, you think that this batter doesn’t scare the opposition anymore. He is a legend who has performed numerous times for India. He’s a big player, and you’re always afraid of him. We don’t want him to pitch a big inning against us; all I ask is that he score as many runs as he did before. I hope he gets a century not against us, but against someone else in the tournament “Shadab stated this at a press conference on Saturday.
Shadab Khan said of Shaheen Shah Afridi and Jasprit Bumrah’s injuries: “Shaheen and Bumrah will be missed by both teams. They are their teams’ best players. But the beauty of cricket is that it is a team sport rather than an individual sport. Both teams will undoubtedly miss their key players, but in the end, you must perform as a unit.”

Shadab stated that it is now all history and that it is up to who performs better on the day.
“That game is now in the past. We’ll carry the good vibes from that game forward. We will try to replicate the performances, particularly the mindset. But that is all history, and tomorrow will be a new day and a new match. We will make every effort to win. The beauty of cricket is that Hassan Ali is a match-winner for us. There will be ups and downs, but we have always believed in him. He hasn’t had many good performances recently, but we had a plan to give him match practice. Unfortunately, a situation arose in which we needed to contact him again. He was a match-winning bowler for us, and we hope to see him do so again “Shadab stated.
“We have a good team, but it is not a champion team right now.” We intend to compete for the title of champion team. Definitely, teams are here to win, and we are here to give it our all. “The outcome is not in our hands,” he added.
Shadab said of the India-Pakistan game, “The challenge is always there, and there is a buzz around an India-Pakistan game.” There is added pressure because of this, but when you play for your country, you want to do well against India. When you play in an India-Pakistan game, you instantly become a superstar.
