Rashid Khan believes that fans expect Virat Kohli to only score hundreds of points. ‘The shots Kohli plays, you don’t think he’s out of form,’ Rashid said.
On Wednesday, August 24, Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan and Indian star batter Virat Kohli met at Dubai International Cricket Stadium ahead of the Asia Cup 2022. For a brief moment, the two were seen catching up and exchanging a few words. When asked about Kohli’s current batting form, Rashid stated that based on the shots he plays, he does not appear to be out of form.
Rashid went on to say that Kohli is not out of form, but that his fans expect him to score a century in every other game. Rashid went on to say that Kohli did all the hard work of surviving difficult periods in Test matches, resulting in scores in the 60s and 60s.
“The kind of shots he plays, you don’t think he’s out of shape at all,” Rashid said in a YouTube interview with Sawera Pasha. “In my opinion, he is not out of shape.” The problem is that there are a lot of expectations on him, and people expect him to score a century in every other match.”

Everyone would have said he was in good shape if it had been any other batter: Rashid Khan
“Even when we look at his Test knocks, he did all the hard work and survived during difficult periods to finish in the 50s or 60s.” If it had been any other batter, everyone would have said he was in great shape. “Kohli has raised the bar so high that people now expect him to just score hundreds,” the Afghanistan spinner added.
Kohli will be back on the field for the Asia Cup 2022, which kicks off on Saturday in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). And, as renowned broadcaster Harsha Bhogle pointed out, the tournament could serve as a dress rehearsal for Kohli, who will look to get back into shape before the T20 World Cup in Australia, which begins in October.
Rashid stated that the Indian batter did not appear to be phased by the criticism and comments made during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. “He works very hard, and just looking at him motivates us to do the same,” the 23-year-old said.
