A businessman from Maharashtra comes forward to help Vinod Kambli by offering him a job. Vinod Kambli played in over a hundred One-Day Internationals for India before retiring in 2000.

With the advent of cash-rich franchise cricket, modern-day cricketers have had their hands full while competing at the highest level. In contrast, several former cricket stars, including former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli, are struggling to make ends meet. However, in recent heartwarming news, a businessman from Maharashtra has made a lucrative job offer to the southpaw.

Vinod Kambli made his Indian debut more than three decades ago. He was regarded as the next big thing in Indian cricket. After scoring 793 runs in his first seven outings in red-ball cricket. Averaging an incredible 113.29 with two double centuries in his first four matches.

Although Kambli went on to play over 100 ODIs for the Men in Blue, he never lived up to his initial promise and has faded into obscurity since the turn of the century. In a recent interview, the flamboyant cricketer stated that he is looking for cricketing assignments, citing his dire financial situation post-retirement.

A Marathi businessman has reportedly offered the former Indian international a job in the finance division of Sahyadri Industry Group in Mumbai with a monthly salary of Rs 1 lakh in response to the stylish stroke makers’ plea. This latest offer has yet to be accepted by the 50-year-old.

It is essential to have assignments if you want to be consistent in your life: Vinod Kambli

Kambli’s most recent cricketing assignment was coaching a team in the T20 Mumbai League in 2019, guiding young and upcoming cricketers at the Tendulkar Middlesex Global Academy in Nerul. He emphasized his predicament following his playing career and thanked the BCCI for their monthly pension, which allows him to support his family.

“I am a retired cricketer who is completely reliant on the BCCI’s pension.” My only payment [source of income] at the moment comes from the Board, which I am extremely grateful for. It looks after my family. There will be no cricket for you after you retire. However, having assignments is essential if you want to stay on track in life. “I’m looking for that from the MCA,” Kambli said in a recent interview with Mid-day.
